Jon leads Plante Moran’s transfer pricing practice. Jon has over 17 years of experience advising multinational business on international transactions, including 15 years in transfer pricing. Jon has advised under the standards of multiple jurisdictions including the US, Japan and numerous OECD countries.
Jon has managed a wide range of transfer pricing projects, including advanced pricing agreements, documentation, planning, and buyouts of intangibles. Jon’s experience has covered a wide range of industries, including information technology, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, consumer products, chemicals, apparel, and financial services.
Jon previously served as diplomat in the US Foreign Service, where he specialized in economic analysis relating to trade policy and to international trade in food and beverage products. His assignments included serving at the US Embassy in Tokyo, where he negotiated extensively with the Japanese government on difficult trade disputes.
Jon has also taught economics at the university level and is an accomplished instructor.
