Senior Consultant, Plante Moran
Located in our Monterrey, Mexico office, Julio is an international senior consultant and a member of Plante Moran’s global services team. He has extensive experience working with both manufacturing and service companies, as well as large-scale assembly plants. Julio specializes in advising international company executives regarding Mexico and U.S. cross-border relations, so they’re aware of the implications, risks, and nuances of conducting international business. He’s able to provide exceptional client service by analyzing Mexican tax compliance and reform and how federal, local, and custom taxes apply to business operations in Mexico.
Julio also advises U.S. and Mexico-based clients with globalization, tax compliance, mergers, joint ventures, tax and operational due diligence, and Mexican market requirements. In addition to his experience with manufacturing and service companies, Julio is well-recognized for his experience with foreign operations startups in Mexico. This includes on-site visits to analyze the geographical, customer, and supplier-related advantages, among other key business aspects related to entrepreneurship. These transactions have also included negotiations with local governments to discuss tax and economic incentives for clients.
He has a degree in accounting and finance from the University of Monterrey and is currently pursuing his Masters in Tax law degree. In addition to his native proficiency in Spanish, Julio is 100 percent fluent in English.
